
Prestwick is situated in the heart of Burns Country - visit the Burns Heritage Centre, Burns Cottage and The Auld Kirk and Rozelle Park. Culzean Castle and Country Park (south of Ayr) and Kelburn Park and the Vikingar Centre (near Largs) are within 30 minutes driving distance. The Isle of Arran can be reached by ferry from Ardrossan - the island has its own distillery, cheese-making and chocolate factory, Arran Aromatics and other cottage industries.
There are several parks catering for children within driving distance, such as Loudoun Castle Theme Park and The Heads of Ayr Farm Park.
Apart from the many golf courses in the area, there are other sporting and cultural activities to enjoy. Ayr Racecourse hosts many meetings throughout the year. There are also several riding schools, fisheries, sailing clubs and boat trips within the vicinity. Rugby Park, the home of Kilmarnock Football Club, which currently plays in the Scottish Premier League, is 15 minutes from the Hotel.
Going further afield, a trip to Glasgow (45 minutes by train) will provide the ladies with superb shopping (Buchanan Galleries, Buchanan Street, Princes Square, St Enoch Centre, Argyll Street and Sauchiehall Street). The Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow Science Museum, The Burrell Collection are only a few of the wonderful attractions within the city.
